Ik ben Tamar

My name is Tamar. I moved to Maastricht in 1998. Before this I lived in Britain and France. Therefore I know how it feels to live in a country where you are not familiar with the language and the culture. I also travelled to South America and discovered a little about the people and the culture in Ecuador and Peru.

In my job as an accountmanager I had a lot of international contacts, which I adore. Not a big step for me to go teaching Dutch for foreigners in 2003. I worked for well-known Language Institutes and have many years of experience with teaching expats, immigrants, international students etc.

I know how rewarding but still very challenging it can be to learn to talk and understand a foreign language. I believe that having classes should be fun. The different backgrounds of my students fascinate me and I try as much as possible to adapt my lessons to your interests.

In my freetime I like cooking and reading. My family and I like to hike around in the hills of Limburg.
